Speaking of time marching on.....my firstborn turns 25 in two days! Thats a big WOW!

 

 

 

 

 

 Another year older. And thankfully, wiser too.

 

Had a great visit with Lovely Daughter #1 and her husband (A) last weekend. I drove up to Bowling Green, KY after work on Friday and A had a wonderful meal of suffed chicken breasts ready and waiting.

Saturday morning went to the Farmers Market for fresh tomatoes for a picnic at Mammoth Cave. It was Founders Day and we took the free Discovery Tour. After which, we drove to a picnic area to eat. I have heard of ants that can carry picnic baskets away, but have you ever seen flies that try to take your sandwich out of your hand??? They cared nothing for their safety as they aimed right for the next bite you are taking, trying to beat you to it! Several of them came within a hare's breath of being eaten.

We headed back to their townhouse where we made a vague plan for decorating their bedroom. A has many travel souviniers that needed to be displayed. So we shopped thrift stores, antique stores, department stores and craft stores all afternoon. That evening was spent implementing the plan, which came together quite well by Sunday afternoon, if I must say so myself. The evening meal of Taco Salad was also delicious and much appreciated after all that hard work.

After Sunday services, A again plied us with fantastic food (maybe my favorite yet) of Reuben sandwiches, macaroni, and tomato/basil salad. We then put the finishing touches on the bedroom before I headed back to Alabama.
